ParticipantI am looking for a recipe with the above using mixed brass and CCI 500.
Projectile info states push minimum 1150fps for reliable expansion. Western Powders 8.0 data even in +P doesn’t push this projectile this fast.December 9, 2021 at 12:11 pm #394647tvarden
ParticipantI looked in every reloading manual I own (lots) and hottest I could find was Lyman 50th 6.0 grs True Blue = 1109 fps
And Western Powders 6.0 edition lists +P REM GS @ 6.5 grs =1203 fps
Speer GDHP @ 6.1 grs =1141 fpsDecember 9, 2021 at 12:44 pm #394688Kfd518
ParticipantThank you for this info.

ParticipantI got 1145fps out of a fs92 with a 4.9in barrel and 1120 out of my Glock 17.
I used 6.2gr of True Blu with CCI 500.
I would suggest try 5.8gr of Alliant BE-86 with CCI 500prim SD 14 for the 1911 and SD 18 for the g17.
This got me 1219fps out of my gov mod 1911 and 1170fps out of my Glock 17.
I wasn’t happy with TRUE BLU because you get a compressed load so you have to be careful when seating the bullet
so as not to deform the bullet. I also find the BE-86 is cleaner burning and has a flash suppressant.December 10, 2021 at 6:07 am #394962backcut
ParticipantI don’t have the 124 MPR but did load the 124 MW with True Blue in a Glock 45 (4″ barrel). 1.085″, 5.6gr True Blue 10 shots gave avg vel 1028 fps, 10 sd. Next I’ll to work up to the 6.0gr max per Lyman 50th.
