    Tested the new : Nuke 124gr. JHP with 5.4gr. of Ramshot Silhouette, Winchester sp primers, Winchester cases, cartridge oal: 1.065 … Chrono data yielded average velocity of 1118 with Extreme spread of 17 and standard deviation of 7 ( 8 rounds tested) from a Sig 320 5″ barrel. Good accuracy with no unburned powder. This load is listed as a non +p but max saami working 9mm load, with the Hornady XTP 124gr. bullet. Velocity is similar though just slightly lower substituting the Hornady 124gr. XTP bullet. Accuracy of the RMR Nuke JHP 124gr. is very good with this load. Temperature 58 to 60 degrees.

    Thank you for posting this. I chrono’d this load today. Started with 5.2 Silhouette., then 5.4 and 5.5. The 5.2 load did strange things; not sure if the chronograph was glitching, but I tossed those results and moved on.

    These results were with a Sig P365 with a 3.1″ barrel, 124 grain Nuke. Brass was once-fired CBC (didn’t like it, won’t use again) and CCI 500 primers:

    5.4 silhouette @ 1.065 COAL gave me an average of 1049 fps (7 shots), with an extreme spread of 29fps and standard deviation of 8fps.

    5.5 Silhouette @ 1.065 COAL gave an average of 1052fps (8 shots), extreme spread of 17fps and standard deviation of 6fps .

    Unfortunately, testing got cut short – work beckoned – so I had to pack up and call it a day, but so far this looks like a fantastic load range for a short barrel carry pistol.

    The standard disclaimer applies: I am not specifically recommending -anyone- base their loads off of my data, such as it is; I am simply reporting on my particular results in my particular firearm. Use best practices, always, when working up a load.

    Thanks for the report… I have a ” XD sub compact that I hadn’t gotten to testing with the 5.4gr. loading so that gives me a idea of about where it would be. Appreciated.

    I have been trying to talk RMR into getting a denim / gel test done or a volunteer but so far, no luck. Reportedly good expansion in bare gel, but a little testing with materials in front of the gel is really needed. If this bullet proves out with the denim and gel tests, then they really have something which will expand their market for this bullet, but until then… maybe relegate it to summer use only until further testing if it’s the characteristic expansion and penetration wanted. It does need to be done in any case. Again, thanks for the update. if you do test the 5.2gr load level, let me know the results if you would.

    I talked to the guy at RMR and told him I had jacket seperation with the 115 gr Nukes in water jugs. He stated that won’t happen in gel.
