    2 part question: On the rmr 124 MPR bullet, what other 124 grn bullet is it comparing to as far as load data, such as Sierra, Nosler. Hornady XTP, ?
    I haven’t ordered any of the 124 gr Nukes yet but will be soon, what other bullet are they comparing to, for load data?

    I used the Sierra 125gr JHP ( part# 8125) data when I developed my load with 124 gr RMR-MPR and later RMR Nuke.
    I don’t have the actual sierra bullet but if you go the Blue Collar reloading website , it listed the 125 gr Sierra JHP OAL is .554″, the RMR Nuke OAL is .545″ so they are similar.
    Lyman book suggested COL 1.075″ , HP-38 start load at 3.9 gr and Max load 4.4 gr.
    I loaded RMR nuke COL 1.040″ which scary short for my CZ, I start my load at 3.6 gr of HP-38 and worked up to 4.0 gr. It shoot reliable without any sign of high pressure.
    I don’t have chrono data for these load with HP-38 but I do have some data with N320 powder, hope it help.

    124 gr RMR-Nuke- Win case , CCI primer
    COl 1.040″, Vihta n320
    3.4 gr average 927 FPS
    3.7 gr average 983 FPS
    3.8 gr average 1012 FPS

    When I started reloading the RMR 124 gr JHP (Multi Use?) I compared them to Nosler 124 JHPs and they were physically very close (diameter and length). I used Nosler data quite successfully. I used the same data for my RMR Nukes.

    First off Thanks for the response:
    Nosler does seem like a close comparison to the rmr jhp. I just got in some of the 124 gr RmR nukes. Going to start with CFE powder first. I’ve got titegroup, ramshot Silhouette, hp-38, Acc #2 to play with. Seriously thinking of picking up some of the VihtaVuori powders probably start wit N320 and N340. If I can find it locally.

    I have been loading 115gr JRN over 4.0gr Tightgroup for several months now with great success with an COL of 1.100. Decided to increase powder charge to 4.1gr for increased FPS on my last 100rds but haven’t shot them yet to see the difference if any on accuracy. With the latest ammo shortage scare, I ordered 4# of CFE and 2,000 CCI primers. On November 1st I intend on ordering 500 124gr Nuke bullets for self defense just in case things go south with this upcoming election. Hodgdon load data showes a load of CFE between 4.5 and 5.1gr with a COL of 1.060 using 0.355 HDY XTP bullets. I usually starts my loads somewhere in the middle. What are your thoughts on this?     The load recipe I decided to go with is as follows 5.2 gr of cfe pistol powder at a hair under max OAL I have to measure them again. I did experiment load in bunches of 5 rounds for each of the following 5.0gr of powder 5.2 for a middle charge and 5.5 was the max In my reload manual. They were all pretty accurate out of my cz Ts2 but the 5.0g loads felt kinda light and didn’t make me feel like they had good chance of expanding properly, the 5.5g load was spicy load definitely meet the velocity but i didnt like the recoil, and 5.2g load seemed just right. Once I get a chronograph I will run thoes loads again and probably start at 5.2 and work my way up to 5.5 again just to see what I’m getting.

    Western powders included the Rmr bullet in their load data before hogdon took them over . If you can find it on line yet: 124 JHP accurate #5. Start 5.5 Max 6.1 COL 1.120 . Hogdon powder data does have rmr 124 jhp in their data also. Hope this helps

    Follow up with the Rmr Nukes. I loaded up some for ladder loads with CFE powders. Data from Hornadys manual. Start load of 4.9 middle load 5.1, and max load of 5.3. Coal of 1.06. Shot 5 rnds each out of my sig p320 x compact, IWI Masada 4in bar. and 5 out of my sig p365. First let me say congrats to RMR outstanding bullet, makes me look like I know how to shoot.😆. They shot great, 4.9 and 5.1 just felt to light to me 5.3 felt better. Velocities were pretty decent.
    Xcompact 4.9 avg velocity 1045.80 SD 15.16
    5.1, 1086.40 SD 9.94
    5.3, 1100. SD 22.79.
    Masada was 4.9 1110
    5.1 1157,
    5.3. 1190 Sds were in the low to mid teens.
    Sig p365 had low to mid 1000 velocities but to be honest I wasn’t shooting that gun worth a crap.
    I did load 15 rnds at a COAL of 1.08 with cfe
    From 5.3 grs, 5.6 grs and 5.8 guns and shotbthem out of my XCompact. 5.8 was snappy but no pressure signs .
    5.3 vel 1108 sd 19.27
    5.6 vel 1141 SD. 15.34
    5.8 vel 1176 SD 11.97.
    May try some at 5.5grns and 5.7 grs.
    FYI all loads with CCI SPP.

    You should be safe using any same weight bullet’s recipes other than plated and cast lead bullets. I’m trying out the 124 gr NUKEs for the 1st time when I get them. I’ll primarily be using them in 9mm PCCs and my MP-5 Clone. Hollow points are harder to feed in unramped barrels which most 9mm PCCs are (unramped), accept for my CZ Scorpion which eats anything I feed it.

    I just love these bullets.

    I used the Lyman 51’st Edition / Sierra 124 JHP for my starting loads. In that I am using Winchester 244 somewhat complicated the process because it is such a new powder not much is published. I am using W244 simply because it is available in my area and nothing else like W231 or Unique is.

    Bottom line -> I used my Chronograph (Competition Electronics) to zero in on a velocity of approximately 1150 fps. I am using Sterling brass (once to three times reloaded), RCBS carbide dies, CCI small pistol primers and 4.8 grains of W244 with an COAL of 1.08 in. I do not impart any significant crimp on the finished bullet – just a very light taper crimp as provided by the die.

    Shooting these out of my M&P with a 4.25 in barrel, 1:10 twist I achieve a very consistent mean velocity of 1128 fps with a standard deviations
    ranging from 7 to 10 fps.

    Again – this is using STERLING brass. I feel that this brass is a lot stronger than say Blazer or other similar “soft brass” cartridges. If I switch brass I will have to adjust my powder drop. Softer brass with require more powder due to loss of crimp strength.

    One thing that I have noted is that as I push the bullets to higher and higher velocities, the standard deviation in velocity goes to hell. For myself and my firearms (M&P / Dagger) – the above velocity is my sweet spot.

    I have been reloading the 115gr & 124 Nukes. The bullets are chubby so have to load short to chamber in my old S&W 469. Do a plunk test on the gun to check the OAL.
    1st load
    Powder #2 4.4 gr
    OAL 1.050
    Avg 1093 Hi 1097 Lo 1089 Es 8 Sd 3.
    No pressure signs, and run well.
    2nd load
    124 gr Nukes
    Powder #2 4.1gr
    OAL 1.050
    Avg 1032 Hi 1042 Lo 1022 Es 20 Sd 7.

    Finally loaded up the 124 gr Nukes. I tested the loads in the following pistols:

    Gen 4 Glock 26
    Gen 4 Glock 19
    Gen 5 Glock 45
    Sig P226 Navy

    due to the various chambers, loads were loaded to an OAL of 1.060″. Brass used was mixed. Primer used was Federal SP mag. Powder was Silhouette.

    Powder charges:
    5.5 gr
    5,7 gr
    6.0 gr

    Velocity ranges for each pistol:

    G26 1109-1176 fps
    G19 1148-1222 fps
    G45 1114-1187 fps
    P226 1129-1189 fps

    Best loads are the 5.7 and 6.0, but still need to do further accuracy testing
