KeymasterOur favorite load here at RMR is 24.6 grains of TAC. From my 28″ barrel I get about 1/2″ groups and 3150 fps. Obviously you won’t get that velocity from a shorter barrel but we use the same load in our 16″-18″ barrels with really good accuracy.

Participant223 Rem? Have you fired them in a gas gun. I am assuming the 28″ Bbl is a bolt gun. Barrel twist rate? Manufacturer: case, primer? COL?

ParticipantI shoot across the course with a service rifle. Normal load for 200/300 yards is 24.2 G of R-15 with 77 SMK. With prices so high for those, it is time to test out these RMR 69ers. Time will tell. I noticed your suggestion to use TAC. At least it is available.

KeymasterMy barrel is 1 -8″ Xcalibur. I think my OAL is 2.245. Not sure on the primer. It’s lake city pull down cases.

ParticipantI just started load development for this bullet. I’m using it in my 18” AR15.
The load to match the drop on my vortex strike Eagle is 24g of Shooters World Tactical Rifle and CCI 400 primers.
Muzzle velocity is 2,830 fps.December 9, 2021 at 11:20 am #394584Steven Newcomer
ParticipantI shoot ACROSS THE COURSE NRA HP/CMP, I have found sub-moa groups consistently with your 69’s with 23.5 IMR8208, 24 grains of Vihtavuori N140. Wolf and Lapua brass and CCI450’s at 2.255 mag length for 200 yard and 300 yard stages. I imagine 23.5-24 of Reloader15 would be great and 22.8-23.2 of H4895 would be a solid grouping also.

ParticipantI”ve had great results with the RMR 69gr bullets using this load out of a Savage 12FV 223 with a 26″ Barrel:
Brass: Lapua
Powder: Shooters World Precision
Primer: CCI 400
Charge: 23.6gr
Base To Ogive: 1.913″Velocity: 2917 fps
I have repeatedly seen groups under 1/2″ with this rifle, several near 1/4″.
Be careful with that seating depth, it’s pretty close to the lands on this rifle and will need to be adjusted accordingly!December 9, 2021 at 1:12 pm #394719William Pearch
ParticipantMy current loading is 24.6gr of Varget (Gas guns.) This is the ‘lower’ accuracy node – the next accuracy node seems to be at 25.2 grains. Loaded to magazine length. Both loads show no pressure signs.

ParticipantI load this bullet as follows which closely matches Jacob Wilcox load:
25 gn TAC
COL about 2.250″ with mixed brass
Faxon Gunner 16″ Match Series barrel, 1:8April 2, 2022 at 5:02 pm #422706Fatboy
ParticipantHas anyone come up with a way to get the corn out of the tip? I feel like its causing issues with seating and accuracy.
