Reloading these (.30 Carbine) for the first time.
My new-to me-M1 has been passed to me from my father in law & will make it’s way to a son.
Have some brass & was able to get 3 boxes of ammo recently but after shooting 100 or so would like to start reloading my own.(have dies)
Have seen H110 used, but there must be other powers to use??, if possible please include fps & as much other data as possible.
At this point any info will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Kelly
And many thanks to Jacob & all his crew!!!!

Depends on your equipment (loader). H110 has been a powder used forever and a lot of folks like it. I have been told if you are using a progressive press like Dillon the fine flake H110 gets messy when dispensing into the case and goes all over the place. IMR 4227 is coarser and gives similar load data and not so loose on your loading bench. Your biggest challenge is finding powder anywhere. Hang in there and keep looking and eventually you’ll score. I have several carbines and they are all fun to shoot. Good luck

    Hi Kelly,
    Congratulations on the new carbine!
I’m going go try to give you the information I have. I have loaded these bullets with 2 different powders.
I mostly use H110/W296 for my carbine loads. Right now I am loading 14.9g of H110 with mixed commercial and military brass
    Cci 400
    1.670 coal
Velocity should be just a bit above 2000 fps although I have never ran these over a chrono.
The range of powder charges with H110 or W296 is between 14.0-15.0g. No need to try to hotrod this cartridge as it makes no sense.
Coal may need to be reduced in some carbines with this bullet to feed reliably but I do not have any issues in mine. Please reduce charge below 15.0 seating this bullet shorter. Half a grain or so reduction works well.
If H110/296 I’d not available, I have found that Accurate 11FS is an exact match in Velocity and charge weight. The only difference is an addition of a flash suppressant in the powder. I use these 3 powders interchangeably in a dozen or so calibers and they are all about the same depending on lot #’s. I hope this helps.
