ParticipantI have started loading for the 380 again after a long lay off with that caliber. I’m shooting a Walther PPK/s and a Kahr P380. I was using Winchester 231 for my 9 MM loads and it was on the bench so I started there for the 380. I started with 2.8 grains and then some at 3.0 grains. I think the 2.8 grain load may be slightly more accurate but need to do a lot more testing. Both loads were pleasant to shoot and dropped the brass at my feet.
My daughter is considering getting a 380 for her CCW and my granddaughters are liking the smaller guns too. So far we are just experimenting with loads for plinking and getting used to these firearms. What are you loading for plinking and what would you recommend for more serious work?

ParticipantBe Careful loading hot in a PPK, blowback 380s cant handle the pressures as well as a locked breech 380 such as a LCP, Bodyguard, P238 ect ect. That being said I load 2.8 Titegroup for practice with the PPK and 3.0 for my P238 and Bodyguard. I load 3.1 titegroup with a Lehigh Extreme Penetrator Solid Copper round for serious work in the Bodyguard.
