    Howdy everyone, first time posting.

So, I’ve been looking at the RMR JHP MPR Nukes, and I think I really want to pick up 2k or so, but I do have question first that I’m hoping someone can answer for .

In the Western Powders load guide, which you can find here( https://ramshot.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/WesternPowdersHandloadingGuide8.0_WEB.pdf), they list an RMR JHP at 124 grains for a few different powders.

I’m interesting in using Accurate No.5 to load these on top of, and on page 26, it sure looks like that’s what they’re referencing. However, I think the guide was published before the MPR Nuke was released, am I just underestimating how long the Nuke has been out there?

Has anyone used these with accurate no.5? Did you get velocities close enough to, and scaling along with the published data that it would suggest that the load data published there is indeed for the MPR Nuke?

The original and the nuke are nearly identical. Most of the changes were on the inside. You can use the same data for either one.

Heck yeah, that’s what I was hoping to hear.

I kind of suspected that was the case, seeing the old MPR and the newer Nuke. I was just hoping to hear an affirmative on that from someone who knows more than me on the topic before I rushed headlong into buying a couple of thousand of them.

I am just getting ready to use my RMR 124g MPR (Nuke) with Ramshot Zip. Which bullet listed in the Western loading guide is a close comparison to the 124 Nuke.I find the Remington Golden Sabre, the Sierra HP and the Horady XTP. Are any of these a close match to the RMR?f

    Thanks in advance,
    Bob

Robert, there are published loads for that bullet for ramshot true blue and accurate no. 5 in the manual. As for what bullets are ‘close enough’ I wouldn’t want to venture a guess personally, but maybe someone else here would be able/willing to answer or venture a guess.

Based on what I am seeing, I feel comfortable starting with the 124 gr Nuke with Remington spp and 3.7 gr of Ramshot Zip and OAL of 1.120. Should give a starting velocity of 900. If anyone sees a problem, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bob
