Remember the “.224 55 GR. FULL METAL JACKET BOAT TAIL BULLETS FEDERAL XM193” bullets that RMR sold a while back, that wouldn’t feed well through a bullet feeder but did have the virtue of being cheap for the time? Couple thoughts on that:

    1. I would say they are OK but finicky in a bullet feeder. I’ve noticed issues with them getting stacked up near the top of tube on my MrBF if I somehow drop too many in there. If that doesn’t happen, they seem to be OK.
    2. I put 26.5gr of TAC behind them and load them to the cannelure. No ill effects yet. Haven’t run a chrono on them, but will update this post when I do. This is probably somewhere just above .223 pressures, but below top end for 5.56 (according to the Western Powders data, anyways). I’ve loaded it as hot as 27.2gr and seen nothing particularly interesting from the brass, so I think 26.5gr gives me some safety for how I load (which is on a progressive).
    3. No particular accuracy issues, but I don’t shoot for groups.

I also use 4.2gr TG, loaded to about 1.106. No pressure signs or other such issues. A little hotter than I think is strictly necessary, but keeps me in power factor for competition.
