ParticipantRobert,
My long time favorite for 9mm 115 g RMR FMJ RN was HS-6 but it has gotten hard to get and very expensive. Last I saw it was over $60/lb. I was loading these to 1100 fps, I found this to be an accurate, clean shooting powder, with very little smoke, consistently accurate, and zero muzzle flash. Over all I was very happy with the performance but decided it was time for a change. Honestly what prompted the change was a friend acquired two 8 lb. jugs of CFE pistol and sold one to me real cheap. If I remember my 8lb’er was $220.

ParticipantRobert Taylor. Thanks for responding. Very detailed and valuable information. I had similar results with 5.0 g of CFE at 1050 fps so I am going to fill up my ammo boxes with that recipe as I have over 3000 RMR 124 g. And a big jug of CFE pistol.

ParticipantI have loaded thousands of the 115g FMJ Rn from rmr with 5g of CFE p and an OAL of 1.100 with great results. Great accuracy from a CZ P10C with around 1100 fps.
I am loading the 124g at an OAL of 1.160 and I may shorten them a little and see if the fps increases. The first batch was at 4.8 g and I averaged 975 fps. I bumped the powder charge up to 5.0 but I have not test fired any of these yet. If that is okay I will reduce OAL to 1.14 and retest.

ParticipantI doubt we will ever see pre pandemic prices again. Between inflation, political pressures on the firearms industry, and the cost of materials needed to make the primers I think we will be happy to see prices in the $60 – $70 per 1000 from this point forward. Would not surprise me if the new normal settles around $75-$80 /1000.
Just glad I bought a large supply when they were cheap and plentiful during the Trump years.

ParticipantJust ordered another 2,000 FMJ Rn. I have been shooting these for a long time with great satisfaction.
My recipe is RMR 115gn FMJ Rn with a CCI 500 primer and 6.4 gn of HS-6 with an OAL of 1.100”. This is kind of on the low end of published data but it cycles all my 9mm guns flawlessly. Out of my czP10c the chronograph shows right around 1200 FPS.
Shoots very accurately, low recoil impulse, low flash, not much smoke. And the Dillon 650 makes them almost as fast as I can shoot them.dworshak
