ParticipantThanks for your load information, Dworshak. I might try that one sometime.
Thought I would add this although you did not mention 147 gr. projectiles. I recently purchased 147 gr RMR RN projectiles for use in subsonic loads. Since I already had CFE Pistol powder in my powder measure, decided to try making subsonics with this powder first. Used 4.1 gr CFE Pistol powder with 1.15” OAL. Shot them through my suppressed CZ Scorpion (7.72” barrel) with an average velocity (11 samples) of 985 fps and a std dev of 14. The maximum velocity for any of these was 1008 fps which was still subsonic. No problems with cycling the gun or ejecting. Based on these results, I am going to make more of these and see if they continue to work well.
Just curious, what other powders have you tried for 9mm? I have used HP-38 successfully with 115 gr projectiles (Berry’s) but switched over to CFE Pistol when I started loading 124 gr (it was more available then).

ParticipantSorry I did not see this earlier. I don’t look in here often.
Recently purchased some of the RMR 124 gr projectiles and since my press was already set up for the Berry’s 124 gr HBTPRN projectiles, I used that as my starting point. Used 5.2 gr CFE Pistol with OAL of 1.15”.
From Staccato P with 4.4” barrel, average velocity (10 samples) was 1133 fps with std dev of 12.5 with the Berry’s projectiles.
From Staccato P with 4.4” barrel, average velocity (10 samples) was 1127 fps with std dev of 13.6 with the RMR projectiles. At 10 yards, the grouping of the RMR projectiles was slightly better (didn’t measure) but both were more than adequate for target shooting.
Also have some data through my CZ Scorpion with 7.72” barrel. Average velocity (10 samples) was 1221 fps with std dev of 15.2.
Given that the RMR FMJ are about the same cost as the Berry’s, I intend to keep using the RMR projectiles. So far have shot about 200 with this recipe, no loading or ejection problems with any of the firearms I have used them in.
Hope this helps.
